Don't pay legislators

I don't get it. If the Governor is trying to force the state legislators into agreeing on a budget, why doesn't he stop paying THEM? The state workers have no say in the budget decision. Shouldn't he attempt to negatively affect the ones who cast the votes?

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

I agree with you 100%. Not being from California, I find politics in your state almost as interesting as in mine (Minnesota). I have to give your governor a lot of credit as far as the job he has done over the years.. He has proved many people wrong. Maybe it's time for another referendum?

I don't know that he has the power to stop paying the state legislators, but they make salary and not wages, plus since they aren't doing there job he has to do it for them state spending needs to be cut and this is a way to do it, If he doesn't make these changes the stat3e stands to loose 8 billion dollars this year. He may not have to pay them the federal minimum wage, but he doesn't know how much he can pay them because the legislators won't give him the budget, now the people who are getting laid off are getting laid off and where mostly hired on a temporary, emergency, or part time bases, and that sucks for them, but to me the question is why aren't the state workers applying pressure to the legislators, that is what the point of this is Schwartzennegger is just trying to build an army of supports to get the legislators to do their job, but most of them are choosing to fight him instead. Why? What is he supposed to do? Let the state go so far in debt that we impeach his ass like Grey? I don't think so! It's funny in 2001 I was asked to sign a patition that would make it so that state legislators would not get paid until they pass a budget, lookiong back now I wish I would have signed it. Hindsight is 20/20

I agree. It's time fror another prop. to not pay them until they pass a budget. No retro pay either. Also, now that thing are getting so expensive and people are losing jobs why do the Democrats want to raise taxes. They just don't get that we do not want to pay for any more programs.
