I have an US Visa, it's on a passport that is soon going to expire. i will be getting a new passport. When I apply to the Indian passport office for a new passport, I hope they will NOT deface my US visa (either with a stamp or by punching holes through the old passport and including the visa). True? Now the options: 1) Sewing the 2 passports - lacing the two passports together so as not to lose one of them - who does it? 2) Keeping and showing them together whenever I travel to US - I am confident this works and is the most common norm. 3) Transferring visa page from old to new - NO, I know this cant be done. 4) Getting new one restamped? Is it possible? Is is normally done? Do I need to make an application? Who will do it? At what charge?
To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.
I suggest you do two things:
1. Go to this web site and I think most of your questions will be answered.
2. Talk to the Indian Passport Office before you go and ask them the questions that you asked here so you don't have to go more then one time.
