Does anyone doing Georgia genealogy know who are the parents of Nathan Jones of early Warren and later Columbia County, who was married to Catherine Greathouse? The period of time was from about 1770-early 1800's. I thought they were John and Mary Jones, Quakers at Wrightsboro, but the DAR attributes their Nathan to being the husband of Courtney Bell.

I'll try this again: Ancestry.com shows the parents of your Nathan Jones to be REV. ADAM JONES, SR. (a Revolutionary War soldier and Baptist minister). He was born in VA in 1759 and died in Georgia on 1 Oct. 1830. His parents were BENJAMIN JONES (about 1735 to 1777) and JOHANNER (or JOHANNAR) PERRY (about 1730-1825). Adam was allegedly married 3 times and fathered 11 children. SUSANNAH DENMARK (Nathan's mother) was wife #3.
http://awtc.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mccleary&id=I2680 lists Nathan and his 10 siblings. Nathan was born June 12, 1787 in Wilkes County, GA

If you are wanting to join the DAR, I'd go with the first one--Adam's son.) (NOTE: Overlook anything at the bottom of this that's copied/pasted twice. They don't give you a chance to view your answers before you post them, and I couldn't see whether or not it showed up.)
