When your son points at something, repeat the name of the item as you hand it to him.  Ask him to say the word.  If he is 6 months old, he is going to "babble" and you aren't expected to understand.  Just enjoy and smile and love your baby.

4 thumbs up

He's 2 years old actually. And that what i do; i keep repeating the word and the result is the same,When i ask him to repeat the word, it seems like he doesnt know the meaning of "say..smthn" he can speak few words now!other than that, he speaks his own language. his improvement is tooo slow although i'm doing my best.

i've had the same problem with my 4 year old when he was 2. i wouldn't worry about it too much but i would keep an eye out for signs of autism. i am sure he'll probably grow out of it and start speaking full sentences in no time. but it doesn't hurt to look out for the little guy! Laughing
