How can I get a certified copy of my full divorce ...

How can I get a certified copy of my full divorce decree from another state?  I need it for legal purposes.

Contact the clerk of court in the county/district/parish where you were divorced. They'll tell you how much it'll cost and all that. Some places will take a credit/debit card over the phone, while others require that you send them a check or money order. Most courts have web sites now, and some have interfaces where you can order the records online.

Be sure to stress that it has to be certified, because they charge extra for that.

Check this out! a full divorce record database for all states! you put in the details and it gives you the information.

If this doesn't work, just call the civic center in whatever state \ city you divorced in it's usually not a big deal to get a copy of those papers.

I found even though I do not live in the state of my divorce there is only one way to get a certified copy of my divorce decree and that is through the court that it took place in. You have to send a check and return envelope to the court records room and it takes 4-6 weeks to get it returned to you. I had a friend that was close then me get it for me.
