well it will depend on your player

if its a region free player it will probably play both

but wether a pal dvd will be converted to ntsc for the tv i dont know

also new tvs ie HD tvs are diffrent again i think

Whenever you are downloading movie's, one needs to look and see what format its in or what format your DVD will play.
