hi Rhea, using proper latin names for the fish would help.  many fish stores use misnomers for their fish.  from the list you gave they sound like African cichlids from Lake Malawi in Africa.  they are fairly easy to bred once they have paired up.  devide the tank with a 'tank seperator' you can get from the fish store.  you will need to bring the tank width and height.  place terra cotta flower pots in the tank which the fish will believe are safe caves.  if you are feeding them any 'live food' STOP!  only flakes!  nature will handle the rest so do not disterb.  if frightened by a flash light or tapping on the glass they might panic and eat their eggs.  sounds icky but better them then a preditor.  it may take some time but they'll figure it out.  remember use normal water changes and DON"T OVER FEED!  keep tank at about 80-82 degrees F.  my favorite to bred? Lampralogus Brichardi.  great luck to the fishy family... sparklesquid
