Hi, for some reason, I cannot view the pix you uploaded, but if you get back onto the site, just describe your cabinets -- woodtone? Laminate? dark? light? -- and what colors do you like? Painting the handles and hinges would likely not help you much, but changing the handles may do a lot to update the look. Just make sure you measure the screw-holes (the distance between the holes on the handles) so that you choose handles that are compatible with the present ones -- otherwise the landlord might get really angry! If the handles are one-hole, then you have it made -- just go to your local home improvement store, and feast your eyes on all the possibilities! Good luck.
