Did you sign a lease allowing the landlord the access?  If it's not specified in the lease, you then have to check your local laws governing tenant rights, which can vary from state to state and city to city.

If they have no right to access without your permission, change the locks.

You must complain in no uncertain terms to the landlord. I also believe that you have the right to change the lock on your door, but make sure a neighbor gets a duplicate key.
