Sounds devastating. You've been trying so long to keep this charade of "everything is normal", and now it seems this mask was ripped off without you knowing how to handle your true self in front of your family, and maybe even for yourself.
Or you might want to look at it like it's an act that was forced upon you to stop and take stock of where you are. It must be mortifying to own up to your husband, and yet perhaps this new truth and honesty between you could help you get the help you need...
I would try to look for a group that's not a part of OA. A therapy group, not even necessarily one geared to eating disorder. Most free clinics offer them, and you can even find some in the papers.
