what does origins mean
It usually means the geographical origin of a person or a group of people that is from where he or his ancestors came to the place the person dwells now. It is not restricted to geographical regions; you may as about the regional origins of a football team like the Los Angeles Lakers who are originally from the great lakes area, etc.
