Every relationship in the world is built on give and take. The healthiest and most satusfying ones are those who get the balance right and nobody is doing all the giving or all the taking.

Paradoxically, the best way to find a mate is to stop trying to find a mate and work on yourself, as the other answers have suggested.

There is nothing more attractive than a confident, self-assured person - regardless of physical appearance.  The opposite is also true - we all tend to shy away from needy, underconfident people - no matter how they look!

If you're not already involved in a sport or a hobby, find something that interests you and get involved. Don't sit on the sidelines - get stuck in! Volunteer for stuff. Put yourself out there!

Forget all about looking for a girlfriend - do this for you! In time, the right person will notice you.
