If you could put one piece of art in your home....

What would you choose?  What is your favorite piece of art ever made?

I'd pick

the "David" statue by Michelangelo. I think I might even risk "braking" the limitation of "one piece of art per household" you've set, and say that in my opinion, the entire hall in which the statue is placed (in the Accademia Gallery in Florence), with the "slaves" statues leading to "David", is a masterpiece both of art and of the displaying of art. Therefore, I can pick not only "David", but also the entire hall with the "slaves".

As I sat here and pondered this question, I realized the answer would be one of the toughest ones I have had to come up with. I could live in an art museum as I find beauty, peace and harmony in art.

But having to choose just one piece it would be the Last Supper by Leonard da Vinci

I personally love Guernica by Picasso.  Of course it will not fit in any home...other than maybe a palace.

I would include a print of Guernica and some landscapes.  I find the stories behind the artwork as important as the picture shown.
