What is the oldest type of music apart from Classical

There were many different types before Classical. Classical is just a time period of music, during the time of Mozart. Before there was Classical, there was Baroque (think Bach) and before there was Baroque, there was Renaissance. Then, of course, we could get into the whole world music genre dating back to when people really were banging rocks together to make sounds.

It all began in africa, africa is the music universe. If you listen to any other music, you can still listen to the african influence. Most notable are zamba, merenge, and a whole lot of music that has not changed over the decades. Classical music is western music, it is considered part of the culture.
