Change my own oil - again.  Have owned the same car for ten years - NEVER leaked until I made the stupid mistake of taking it to a Walmart auto shop to have the oil changed because I was busy.  Noticed within half an hour of taking it home there was an oil leak (new puddle in the formerly CLEAN carport).  Crawled under it found they not only pretty much ruined the gasket, but were HALF a quart low on what they were supposed to have put in.  Despite the fact the gasket has since been replaced, it still leaks to the tune of about half a quart over a 3000 mile time span.  So much for convenience, I now have to check up on it on a regular basis and it leaves a nasty mess to periodically clean up.  Believe me, it wasn't worth saving the fifteen - twenty minutes and five dollars cheaper than doing it myself.  NEVER AGAIN!

I bought a new 2007 Ford Ranger at a dealer that offered free oil changes. The first 2 times I took it in I didn't think I had to check their work. I  had check engane light come on ,so I looked how my fluids where doing. Only to find that the oil leval was 2 quarts high. I still take it to the dealer.FREE is FREE! I just don't take it off the lot till I check it out.It took 5 other oil changes befor thay got it right.IT ALSO TOOK THAT MANY UGLY SHOWS.Yell

I'll say this though I do not take my truck to that dealer for warranty work.       If thay can't do a oil change right ,WHAT CAN THAY DO RIGHT .                             DON'T SHOP AT:   Vision Ford Rochester N Y  Tongue out

I change my own oil. Do not trust some of those oil change jockies. Have allways changed my oil. This way I know what my vehicle is doing and able to chech under the hood and under the vehicle. Keep constant records as to what I have done and when the next change or service is due. Able to spot problems before they happen and leave me along the road. Will not completely eliminate this but cuts the cost by about 99% Hope this helps
