I use both OpenOffice and Microsoft office, OO home and MS Office 2003 at work. MS Office is much better IMO: less buggy, has more features and more user friendly. It only loses out in terms of value for money. If you can afford it, buy it.
I heard that MSO 2007 will take some getting used to, but it will be much better than 2003.
