Open Microsoft Word. Click on the Office Button and select the Word Options button at the bottom of the screen.

Click on "Add-ins" on the left sidebar.

At the bottom of the screen, click on the drop-down arrow next to "Manage" and select "COM Add-ins". Click "Go".

Click in the box next to any item on the list that has a check mark in front of it in order to de-select the items. Be sure to scroll through the entire list. Click OK.

Close Word and re-open. The program should now open and close quickly as desired! Repeat this process for each Microsoft Office 2007 program that is not instantly opening or closing.
