why is the nurses from Puerto Rico can't practice nursing in the 50 states of USA unless they have passed the NCLEX when we are USA citizens by birth, in the other hand nurse from Puerto Rico can work in the same 50 States with the license from Puerto Rico in any federal medical facility including overseas, Is the federal government above the nursing regulations in the United State? Will my nursing skills and knowledge be different if I work in local hospitals in any of the 50 states than if I work in the federal medical facilities in the same 50 states? Is nursing practice is diferrent depending in which level of government you work for? Is getting blood samples from a patient, or doing an assessment, or giviing an injection or medication or any other nurses duties or assigments are different in any of the states or any other country around the world? I don't know but what I know is the it doesn't matter where you when to nursing school because nuring is nursing.
Actually this is changing Jose. Currently the Florida Board of Nurses accepts the PR NCLEX. I also read the PA board was considering dropping the rule as well. I'm sure other boards are watching and will also make the change. If you or anyone you know are looking to make a move to the mainland then let me help you. Brady.Intl@gmail.com
