I agree with the above; AA has the best track record in getting and staying sober.  However, if you're adamant about the "religious" aspect of the program, search out either SOS ("Save our sobriety", or RR (Rational Recovery) in your area.  They are much less popular, but both have NO religious aspect.  If, however, like me, you can distinguish between religion and spirituality, ignore everyone when they talk about "God", (I leave the meeting whenever the  chairman chooses "God" as a subject) and when they allude to a Higher Power, I use the AA group as a whole as my Higher Power (they [meaning the group as a whole, not some individual person], because THEY can stay sober, but, by myself, I cannot.).They have the best record of keeping people sober.  It's only about 5%, but that's better than either SOS or RR.
