There is a noise coming from under the hood when pressing on the gas pedal

There is a noise coming from under the hood when i press on the gas pedal,when i let up off the gas pedal i dont hear it anymore!This started 3 days ago.The car still drives the same it doesnt jerk or anything,the noise is pretty loud,its like a reving noise!Can someone please help me out/any suggestions?Thanks so much... My car is 99 monte carlo

If you car has a silicon fluid drive connection to the radiator cooling fan, that is mostly likely the problem.  If the fluid drive part fails, the fan will lock up and will run with the engine rpms.  Look under the hood when the problem occurs.  If the noise is coming from the fan, it will be readily apparent.
