why do birds suddenly appear???
Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
Birds travel in flocks and will frequently send out scouts to look for food, water and safe resting places. When one of the scouts signals the others of something interesting, the rest of the flock will respond.
Be honest and be true to yourself.

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

Meanwhile, if this is a true question I submit that it's possible they think you are a source of food or there is another food source nearby.
Failing that, birds will sometimes suddenly flock due to a disturbance of some sort, such as a nearby predator or other perceived danger.
