When will my newly spade cat stop being in heat?

My cat is 11 months old and he has just been spade...however, we have a 6 week old female kitty and he is still overly licking her parts...and acting like he's in heat around her. The wild cries have stopped but, just wondering when he will completely stop being weird (in an in heat fashion) around her? or will he ever? thanks.

It might not be a sexual behavior. Cats sometimes lick each other and even mark territory with urine, even after neutering.

Bear in mind too that the female cat is a lot younger, so the older cat probably wishes to ascertain seniority (and he should).
