How can I get a new court appointed lawyer

have an ongoing custody battle in which my daughter lives with her "guardian" who happens to be grandmother. She doesn't goto court ordered visitation and the longer I dont see her the harder it will be for me to get her back. She lives a block away, I havent seen her in 5 months. I want a new court appointed lawyer. Can i "fire" her, or who can i request a replacement with asap in new york state? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Life is like a Vapor, here then gone

You can swim all day in the sea of knowledge, and never get wet.

she wont take the child to the court order visitation? You need to take with your lawyer and tell them whats going on, if they wont do anything, then file in the courts for a new lawyer, because that one isnt doing her or his job. Ask to see a judge. You can get on your county website and it has a self help center throught the courts. Good Luck

First, I am assuming that your current attorney is also court appointed being that you want to request a "new court appointed lawyer"?  You will need to contact New York State's Bar Association and inform them that your current court appointed attorney is not representing you appropriately due to the fact that the grandmother is missing court ordered visitation and denying your rights to visit your child.  This is considered contempt of court and it has to be reported by your attorney via filing contempt of court pleadings with the court.  Your attorney is failing to do so due to the fact that court appointed attorneys receive very little pay for their work.  This is unethical and needs to be reported to the Bar Association.  A new attorney will be appointed to you and the grandmothers contempt of court behavior will be documented thus helping you in your case!  It is imperative that you follow through with contacting the New York State Bar Association if you want to make a change.  I hope this helps...........

How do you fire your attorney without being imbarased?

You're going to fire her. There is no easy way to go about this, but it must be done. Tell her support - you can do that without a lawyer in family court - you get temp child support and ask won't call.) If she does not send the requested info, your new attorney can get it for you.According
