I need an alternative to wood flooring

Ask Kelly Edwards a question here. I am looking for a cheap alternative to wood flooring, I have carepeting but need to replace but dont want to spend a lot of money because I wll be moving. The wood flooring would be for the entire house except for kitchen and bathroom.

 

If there are any allergy friendly carpeting I could to part of house in that.

If you shop wood right, you'll see it can be even less expensive than carpet.  Wood has remained constant in price-- carpet has seen huge increases over the past few years as its an oil based product. The only other option would be laminate.  There are many basic colors to be had @ $1 SF.  Adding the underlayment adds about .50 to .80.  But then, I was in Floor & Decor and saw engineered hardwood for $2.50 SF
