Be Blessed.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.
Has Dr. Martin Luther King Dream Come True?
I believe Obama will be a good president despite what some may think. Over 20 years ago, God gave Dr. King a vision, a dream. If you know anything about our God, and I know you do, from your posts out here on Yedda; when he promises us something it comes to pass. He never falls short of his promises. Sometimes it takes minutes and sometimes it takes years. Obama was anointed to come along at this time in our history, just like those that have come before him. No, he is not the anti-Christ, he is a promise that God made to Dr. King coming to pass.
You may not understand where I am coming from, but please allow me to try and give you my perspective. Obama is going to be a president for all of the people, because he is made up of not black but white also. God knew exactly who he had to send, someone to represent all, but also one who could inspire a people that were headed down the wrong road. I am African American and I can tell you that I don't like to see the road that African Americans (especially our youth) are headed.
This man is going to be a uniter, but better still, he is going to inspire a lot of our African American youths to reach higher, to want better for themselves. I see a country where our young people are going to pull those pants up, seek a higher education, and want to make something of themselves; Instead of wanting to be drug dealers, pimps and crack heads, I have a vision of them putting down drugs and guns and picking up books. Our young African American girls are going to trade in having babies for an education. Our men are going to become fathers to their children instead of abandonment. These are issues that Obama will address. He has already begun to address some of these issues. Did you see the excitement last night? That's because our youth see hope. They finally have someone to look up to.
Obama is the type of person who doesn't mind coming out and speaking to the people about responsibility. In the coming years, you are going to see a president who comes out and speaks on these issues. He may be the most positive figure that we as a country have, to call people back to common decency, before the anti-Christ comes. I also believe that he is going to directly address the people and keep them informed on what government is doing.
You see our ways are not God's ways, nor are our thoughts his thoughts. This had to be fulfilled because God promised it. He had to find and raise up the person he felt was right for the job. He is going to be a people's president. Instead of fearing this president, I hope that people support him, because that's the only way true change is going to come about.
Some of the posts that I have read out here are purely biased and prejudice, but I hope that we can overcome that barrier and move in the right direction. God has given us the right person to do it, but are we going to give him a chance? That is the one million dollar question. Did it ever occur to you that no matter what was thrown at Obama, that it didn't stop him? That's because God was in the plan. What our God promises his people, he delivers. Did you actually think that God would let the end times come without fulfilling a promise he made to his people? He is a faithful God that cannot lie. I know that there will be some that don't like what I have written, but my faith in God tells me that it is right.

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.
Tippy-
I have very serious reservations about Obama's socialist leanings, his Muslim associations, and his terrorist associations.
I don't care about his color. I would have voted for Colin P. in a heart beat.
I do not understand why everybody is yammering about his being the first AA president. Has everyone forgotten or simply chosen to ignore the fact that his mother was white?
Politics trumps genealogy. I would like to see unity. There certainly was none under the Bush administration. But unity is going to have to be predicated upon Obama's walking down the middle of the road. And I hope that he will not severely punish those who work hard and make money.
And if McCain had won, would you have invoked all the GOD stuff about him? Do you think that this is a way to promote unity? I do not. Many times the hand of GOD is only evident in retrospect.
Tippy, we stand far apart on many issues, but I respect you and have no problem calling you my sister in Christ.
I hope that Obama wil respect both the poor and the rich, the black and the white (and all the other races. We are doing dualities here.), the young and the old, the Christian and the non-Christian, etc., etc., etc.
I fear for his safety. Perhaps the first step in moving toward unity would be for everyone to pray for his safety and for him to exercise wisdom from GOD. [I am speaking of Yahweh.]

JayR,
I respect your response, and if Mccain would have won, I would have prayed for him too. The reason God was injected into my statement is because I know the promise that was made to Dr. King and I know that God never renigs on a promise. As I previously stated, he will be a president for all people, not just African Americans, but I can invision him making a difference in the lives of African Americans. I also said that he was black and white, because I believe that's who God had to send to bring about the unity that we all seek. I don't think he is going to cater to one color or the other because he is both. Since he is both he is the one to bring us together. I truly in my heart of hearts believe he will be a president for all people regardless of race, creed or color.
I have nothing against Mccain, and I pray that God blesses him in his career. I fear for Obama's safety too, and I am praying that Jesus covers him with his blood and shields him from the enemy.
i had a dream too about MLK and he was a republican with real family values.
Then I am sure that your dream told you that President Obama would be elected. That was MLK's dream. I am sorry that he was not here to see his dream come true, but thank God that I am. Be Blessed
