Hi,


There is a very well defined system to name organic compounds.  It seems a bit difficult at the beginning but once you learn the system / rules it's simple and logic.  Here is a good simple explanation.  However you need to have some basic background / understanding in Organic Chemistry to be able to use it or find your way.

I was late for work this morning, because I got stuck in Zeno's paradox.

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) has guidelines on naming conventions for organic and biochemical compounds.
