i just bought a ipod and was wondering how i transfer songs from my hard drive to the ipod without useing itunes?i go to a folder where the song are and it says i transfered the song but it will not be on the ipod or i donot know how to bring it up.
That's because the iPod has a song database, and it doesn't look for songs in the file tree -- it looks for them in the database. iTunes updates the database when you add songs to the iPod. I don't think there's a way to do it manually, but there are other programs that do that for you and you can try them if you don't like iTunes.
