Country music is full of songs about neighbors. If you had the chorus line, that would help narrow it down. My first guess is that it is not actually Alan Jackson that sings it. Brooks and Dunn put out a song called Believe. It is about a young boy that spends time with an old neighbor, the old neighbor has lost his kids, his wife, and everyone else, and the kid basically asks "how do you keep going?" The old man answers, "I believe." I believe this particular song came out in 2004 or 2005.
