can anyone give me some info or steer me in the right direction as to where to find info on a 1980s brutal murder & rape of a little girl in wakefield , mass on easter sunday. it happened in the greenwood section of wakefield.

I was speaking to a friend of mine about the seemingly increases of child abductions/murders in the recent years. He is from Wakefield and told me of this case that I had never heard of before. I was just curious of this sad-horrible case. That is all.
You can probably contact the Wakefield Daily Item / Boston Globe or Herald archive depts and find out more about this case. All the major newspapers were covering the case. It was something that changed a lot of people's lives. Most people in that lived in the immediate neighborhood of where it happened don't live there anymore. They built houses in the woods where it happened.
The person responsible for her murder was sentened to life w/o any chance of parole 10 years after the murder.

Well, the person responsible was found guilty 10 years later and sent to prison for life w/o parole. You may be able to find articles about it in the Globe; Herald and Wakefield Daily Item if you call their archives dept. It was a pretty gruesome event - but as usual - those types of things always get a lot of press. On a personal note, it happened in the woods behind the house I grew up in. They've since built homes now where it all happened. Kind of creepy to think people are living there. Hope this steers you in the right direction.
