Please help me find this movie. It maybe a late 80's or early 90's movie, a drama, on one of HBO, Showtime, or Movie channel. What I remember is the setting was an old small southern town. The main characters was a huband and wife. They owned a convient store outside of town. The husband continuously abused his wife. I think it was he felt she did not want to stay home. I remember she did not know what he was doing in one of the bedrooms of their house and he told her not to go in the bedroom. She heard him leave and went in the bedroom. She saw sheets of glass on the entire floor. She walked in and her foot prints, like from her body heat fremained in the glass. She thought she could scrub it out before he got back but she could not. I think the wife worked or volunteered at the hospital. Several people were in the hospital because a fox, I think it was, attacked people. It had rabies and a little black in the very beginning of the movie was bitten and they could not find her parents. She refused to get treatment. I remember she said she did not want a needle in her belly and I think she died. The husband was a racist, because his wife was attached to little girl. I think he beat his wife for wanting to save her. I think the movie is about rasicism. Can you help me? Please........I don't remember the name.
