Dear Mr.Raptor Pilot!
I kind of wish you had given just a bit more info, but, without knowing the recent history of it's use, I would assume that the problem is not electrical in nature if the thing will start by pushing it a bit. Does it crank normally? or is it slow to turn over? If it's not turning over as fast as it used too then you may have a starter -battery- related problem, but it sounds more like poor quality fuel that requires the engine to turn over and fire while there is not quite as much drain on the electrical system. without having the unit in front of me it's hard to guess @ what exactly the problem might be. I would start with a fresh set of properly gapped plugs, pull the old plugs out, take care to make sure the plug wires are not grounded and able to spark near any exposed fuel sources especially fumes. Drain the fuel tank, especially if the unit has been sitting more than 3 Mo's, crank the engine over without plugs in the cyl's, this will clear any fuel that has leaked or been forced into them. Refill with fresh high quality fuel. install the new plugs. Try to start, if it starts , shut it down & pull the plugs, look @ the new plugs & see if they are wet just from the few seconds that it was running, install the old plugs & see if it will start on them. If it starts on them the problem was bad gas, imagine that, $3.50 a gal. and the crap goes bad in 3 months. If it wont start on the old plugs put the new ones back in and readjust the carbs a bit leaner, not too much (you don't want to burn a hole in a piston now that you have it running again. If all this doesn't work it's time to head to the fridge and grab a 6 pack of ice cold Budweisers or whatever suit's your fancy and think about this a little more. If you are in SW. Calif. (near Palm Springs) I would be happy to stop bye & take a look @ that thing if you'll share the aforementioned Budweiser's Good Luck
