You need to put the birthstone/stones of child/children.

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

Maya is right, a traditional mother's ring includes a birthstone for each of her children.

I believe some people choose to add stones for each of the grandchildren, as well.

I'd also suggest that you should consider your mother's taste in jewelry. If you are not sure whether she would enjoy a traditional mother's ring, then you are certainly not limited to that as a gift.

What style does her other jewelry reflect? Traditional? Modern? Avant garde? Be willing to think outside the box and choose something which reflects your mom and her personality, not necessarily a mass-produced 'everybody has one except the stones are different' mother's ring.

In either case, I'm sure she'll treasure whatever you select.

Hi Maya, how've you been?

Your daughter will have to give you one that includes stones for your grandkids, then.

I don't wear a lot of jewelry, either. I mostly just wear what my boyfriend's given me - a sapphire ring, bracelet and necklace; plus a silver ring in the shape of a cat that he bought me years ago. I have one other silver ring he gave me that has a heart surrounded by flowers, but I don't have a finger to wear it on now that I have the sapphire.

If my kids gave me a mother's day ring, I'd be screwed!

Hi there jkgram, I AM screwed...You just reminded me I have 4 birthdays coming up in July. Now let's imagine what that ring would look like...daughter and son-in-law 2 days apart in July. Both grandsons in July 1 week apart and grand-daughter 1 day apart in October.

Your birthstone should be centered around all your childrens birthstone in the order of their birth.
