Do companies that provide mortgage leads have state (mortgage broker) licensing requirements? I've seen some companies such as Loanapp.com that have the disclosures in their footer other companies such as clientshop.com do not have any such disclosures.  The curious thing is that Internet Brands owns both companies.

It depends on how they are compensated, what the advertising offer includes, and a few other things.  Companies like Lending Tree and LeadPoint are licenced as mortgage brokers in all 50 states.

Just like RateNerd said it depends on how you're compensated.  Or at least that's been my experience with insurance leads .  With insurance, if you're paid a commission you need a license, but if the leads are a standard rate as unsold, you don't.
