Rejected slogan #235:

Yedda - a brain the size of a planet.

drabsv,

In fact, web sites that would like to use the Yedda service to enable their users to exchange knowledge can do that right away, by using the Yedda Widgets.

When added to a web site (or a blog), the Yedda widgets can be customized for a specific context using one or more topics. So, for example, a web site like www.proz.com which you've mentioned would probably choose "translation, languages, linguistics" as its topics. This will cause the FAQ widgets to display Q&As related to these topics, and the Ask widget to suggest topics in this area.

Of course, more elaborate integrations can be created by working directly with Yedda and its APIs, but this would be a quick way to experiment with this.

I think that the most important issue for the time being is to get the traffic much higher.

Examples of how to do it: offer the service of answering questions to high schools , students in colleges , universities and then you will get much more questions , and many answers as well as a growing recognition of Yedda.

Did you try this?

Charging for the posting of commercial links (or whatever links) on the tagline is an option.

NOTICE: By the time you have noticed this notice, you will have noticed that this notice is not worth noticing.

I think that this is the most important thing, firstly.  If Yedda could gain a tenth of the "hits" that Yahoo answers does, the money would come pouring in (with all the resultant problems that come with success).  However, virtually no one knows about Yedda; it is unknown with the exception of word-of-mouth, as far as I know.  If there were some way to finagle one's way onto TV, or any other media outlet, and the name were to get out there, boy...

Have you thought of trying to get on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, on comedy central?  Or, the Colbert Report?  They feature a 5-10 minute mini-interview with authors, personalities, and assorted people with ideas.  It would fit Jon Stewart's show (the co-founder of Yedda, and then a succinct description; I can see it now...)

Name recognition is the story.

Thanks Dr. Dave, these are good ideas. Let's get Jon Stewart to join Yedda, we'd love to have him around :)

In the meantime, if you enjoy Yedda, why don't you invite more of your friends to join?
