gullefjun, I don't know about the shiny happy google ads, we put them there because... hmm... well, it seems that everybody else got them, so we figured they're some sort of technical requirement for them web applications!

Actually, you might be surprised to know that I think that the Amazon book links actually add value to the user experience. We put a lot of effort into trying to make sure that the books you get are as relevant as possible to your question. Believe it or not, there's actually a lot of valuable knowledge in books. Smile

Also - those nice Amazon links on the right of the page link to Yedda's affiliate account with Amazon.  So while you get a book that will help you out, Amazon gives some money to Yedda at the same time.

I would imagine down the road Yedda could sell a book based on our contributions.  The TOS says that Yedda owns the content we post.  They could also sell our answers to a publishing company that is producing a seperate book as well.

Robblat, just a small correction - Yedda does not own the content we post. You own your content (duh!), and by posting on Yedda, two things happen:

  1. You "grant all users of the Yedda Services an "Attribution Non-Commercial ShareAlike 2.5 (by-nc-sa)" license to use your Content in accordance with the terms of such license ("Content License"). " (this is a Creative Commons license).
  2. You "grant to Yedda [bla bla] license to use, copy, publicly display, digitally perform, and distribute such Content for any purpose whatsoever"
