Iv been contacted about getting a loan ...

iv been contacted about getting a loan modification by a firm named avid law center. we spoke on thursday and today monday i recieved a phone message saying iv been approved what to look out for. thanks s.k

I would be suspicious, especially with a name that has AVID in it.

Ask for 3 refferals that already had  their loan modified by "avid law center'' then call the people and get feed-backs. If they cannot give you 3 names or the recommendations are poor do not use them.

Not pitching but give me the quick scenario on your situation, goals for the property, loan specifics, loan to approx. value and I can tell you pretty quickly your options and if you should go with the paid option, non-profit or do-it-yourself w/ the right tools.

Make sure you ask about CA SB94 that will change the loan mod business and if they are compliant w/ state law on advance fees. 

The report is helpful, has solid info and in light of the attorney loan mod scandal in CA (a lot of them will most likely get disbarred) is still great info before you move forward.

Go to www.bbb.org to check anyone doing loan modifications. Just remember that attorneys are paid by the hour whether they are successful or not. We do not keep someone's money if the loan mod does not go through. That is the only way to insure a good reputation. My dear, you have to be very careful so that they will not swindle money from you. there are other loan firms that can help you through an attorney, more especially, here in uk, if you have a chance you can contact barr. randolph brown, i think he was the one that helped my cousin when seeing for a loan...you can contact him in his email and tell him all you need and advice for securing a loan...
