The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

I think it depends on the crime or crimes. Something far removed from the temptation to repeat would be advisable that's for sure. For instants, if I can't resist stealing I probably shouldn't take a job in a Bank!

There are programs that help Ex convicts get back into the work force without too much trouble. Check your local Social Services.. or perhaps the Probation officer.  Good luck!

Don't just rock the boat, turn it over, if your not on it!

Well it depends on your crime. Rape leave out child care, care facilities, and anything with kids or old people (How about wrecker driver or welder). Drugs leave out law enforcement, EMT's, security, doctors, nurses, attorney and judges (How about lawn care). DUI's leave out driving jobs taxi, truck driver and emergency vehicles (How about plumber). Don't worry there's something for everybody no matter how serious your crime was or is. If you have served your time for the crime and repented to God you can always became a preacher.  Good Luck.

There are a number of factors that need to be considered when looking for a job with a criminal record.  An ex-offender will have to learn which companies and types of jobs to avoid applying for. Many ex-cons have found these blue collar trades more rewarding and able to secure employment.  They are often in such demand that an ex-offender can be hired on the spot or contract basics; and more likely to get a fair chance in this field.
