Hi,
I'm very very sorry about you not working. Life is very tough. I am wondering if you are by yourself or if you have a wife and children. If you're by yourself, I think that keeping the house is not a great idea. You can live in a very small affordable apartment, take some money from your retirement fund, go to school, possibly in the healthcare field like Nursing, Ultrasound, OR Tech. These are the
fields that are in demand. I 'm an RN and I don't find any problem finding a job.
Nursing takes 3-4 years to finish. Ultrasound takes 2-3 years, OR tech, 2 years.
I just hope that our economy will improve.
I don't think that it's wise to keep your house. Spend the money you have on education. Later on, you can buy a house again when you have a stable job.
Take care and I hope that you'll put your emotions about your house on the side.
Be practical.
