After a miscarriage, my friend started behaving strangely. Sometimes, she stares into space for a few minutes or break down for no apparent reason. Are there psychological repercussions as a result of a miscarriage?
Your friend should seek professional help. She is showing signs of depression. What she is going through sometimes strikes women after giving birth. It is called post-partum depression. She can get out of this with professional help.
Whether a pregnancy goes full term or a miscarriage happens a womans body goes through the same hormonal changes. Your friend may be feeling the effects of post-partum depression mixed with depression of having lost a child. I would suggest that your friend seek counseling to help her through this difficult time. Being surrounded with caring friends is also a form of therapy that will help as well.
