It all depends on well you score on your intro test. That will determine where the Army can place you, job wise that is. Far as rank goes, it all depends on how much schooling you have. just out of high school, a privet E-1. associates degree, E-5 after basic or AIT. anything higher you will go to Basic, OCS then onto you AIT. or that is how I recall it. There is other factors that will place you where and how how high on the pay scale, according to the Army's needs.
