The migration of French people from France

I would like to know how many native French left France the last decade to other Western countries. People say that the migration of Europeans from France is remarkable.

France does not have enough jobs for everyone, because hiring is complicated, as lay-offs and firings are so hard to make. At this point, this is a political issue. France has working-matters laws, and, depending on those working-matters laws, creating job can be easy or not. It sure is quite shocking to see young graduates not finding a job in their own country, and this leads to emigration. Seeing young people resort to emigration is humiliating for France, and it can give different impressions on France; a poor creator of jobs, a country where innovation does not seem to exist, etc.

According to a 2005 TNS Sofres poll, 2.2 million French people live in foreign countries — mainly in Europe. Half of those leaving are under the age of 35 years old, believing they will have more chance in other countries. Those departing, and above 35 years old, either say they are leaving for tax reasons or either for professional reasons. Even more striking; more than 90% of emigrants are pleased with their new life-styles, and 40% are planning on either never come back to live in France, or come back once they retire.

These two links show a population growth in French: but the “negative immigration” is not included, there is a sector about immigration but my guess is that the last decade won’t have a real data of peopling leaving French and not coming back because they stay in the EU. If you leave the country and not coming back it is really hard for the government to find that out.

Bergerui gave a great response.  The immigrant population will take over the native French population in a couple decades if it continues at the current rate.
