Refinishing the stainless steel should remove the scratches, however restoring a polished finish to its original appearance requires a professional such as a company that specializes in fabricating or polishing stainless steel.

a soft rubbing compound, like Brasso, or one used for car finishes should do this work.  use a soft cloth with any compounds or for a deeper scratch use a soft steel wool pad.  not one with detergent!  use 000 or 0000 steel wool, as used in crafts. should polish right up!
