How can a mental patient be on a death penalty jury? SCOTT PETERSON

How can richelle nice a juror on scott petersons death penalty trial admitted for over 18 years and in and out of mental institutions be on a juror? Then write scott love letters and when he stopped writing her she said,"i thought we had a bond together" after the verdict richelle checked herself back into a mental instition & was on psyo-tropic meds before during and after the trial. She has a website....Richelle nice vs scott peterson. Is this allowed in the state of california to have known mental patients on a death penalty trial let alone a jay walking trial? Please let me know.

Citizens in good standing are eligible to serve on juries and having had a mental disorder is not a felony. The jury challenge system is one means to discover jurors with some type of mental disorder and an attorney can use to disallow a person to serve.

There's one thing for sure, no matter what her mental problems are/were, she got her vote on the verdict right. GUILTY AS HECK!!!

Marc dalton who wrote the book presumed guilty explains what exculporaty evedinde was kept out of scott petersons trial. Dalton was on geragos defense team and was fired when he got too  close to the truth.  Please read this  book and see what was kept out of the trial and you will understand everything. P.S geragos and daltons fathers were best friends as were geragos jr. And marc dalton. Just see what judge deluccia kept out of the trial in scotts defense. Than you for your time and please e-mail me what you didn't know during the trial. Its  unbelievable, just totally wrong what the judge did.

It's difficult for me to understand the meaning of your post. Are you suggesting there was evidence witheld that indicated he was not guilty?

Yes ! Judge deluccia would not allow so much evedince in scotts trial which is totally unfair in any trial let alone a death penalty trial. Marc dalton was on the defense team w/ geragos and when dalton got alot of real evidence that scott was not guilty. Geragos fired dalton. The bookk is called ppresumed guilty" by marc dalton and when you read this book you will be outraged of how crooked the justice system is in california. This is just wrong !!!

George, let me get this straight, Geragos was Peterson's defense attorney, Dalton worked for Geragos, Dalton discovered evidence that Peterson was not guilty, and Geragos fired Dalton??? Is that about the sum of it?

I watched the whole trial closely and Amber aside, you'd have to have a whole lot of evidence to prove to me that Scott didn't do this. I would agree that iit's circumstantial but who else would have any reason to kill Laci and then hide the body? Just that, in itself, went a long way toward convincing me of his guilt and there's a whole bunch of stuff added on to this. If I have a chance I'll get the book but change my mind ... I doubt it.

LaughingI'm a one woman man seeking a one man women to partner with for the rest of our live's, a fifty fifty relationship, someone who loves sincerly and lasting, someone who can accept an apolagy as well as give one, silent treatment, women are not excepted, vindictive woman are frowned on been there done that, never again in my lifetime will i seek a relationship with a women who is always right in her mind, no matter how wrong she is, i'm looking for an equal relationship, not a dictatorship, if your out there we may have something going already.

there are a million people on drugs to keep them from going off the deep end, when they take there drugs as prescribed there the same as you and i, anyone who believed Scott Peterson was innocent, has to be dumber than a red brick, the amount of overwhelming evidence against him was more than enough to convince a jury of 12 of his guilt, i don't know how familiar you are about criminal cases, but

both side prosecution and defence have a certain amount of challenges about who get's on the jury, it would seem the defense knew about the mental problems this

juror had, and excepted him, in my opinion the jury could have had 12 jurors on medication at the time, but the evidence against him was so powerful, they too would have found him guilty.

to answer your question, hi defense lawyer had several challenges to remove him as a juror, but felt this person is who he wanted as a juror was allowed to stay and deliberate, his clients' fate.
