My thirteen year old daughter will often go days ...

My thirteen year old daughter will often go days without eating. I first noticed this is jaunuary when her clothes started falling off her. I ahve taken her to the doctor and they say she is healthy, A year ago she was in the 47%, now she is in the 22% for her age. Does this sound like anorexia to anyone but me? I can't seem to convince her doctor and she uses food as a bargaining tool, if she is angry at me or stressed over school, she simply won't eat.

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

I am not a doctor, but it certainly sounds like an eating disorder. Or at least, the beginnings of one.

Can you seek out a specialist's advice?

Here are some links I found. Perhaps one will contain some advice that may help.

I dopn't think it's anorexia yet, but I do think it's right on the line and could easily develop into anorexia. I think you're right to be concerned, and the situation should be watched carefully.

Hi,

Certainly sounds like anorexia to me. Read Anorexia exposed to look for more tell tale signs.
