Once upon a time, I made the mistake to let a colleague arm-wring me into attending LifeKeys. I was the only man there. The women were all very timid, emotionally fragile people who wanted to feel good about themselves.
The "course" was pure balderdash. One question still galls me: "What kind of car would you like to drive?"
The ladies all picked the cheapest subcompact cars with automatic transmissions that they could think of, and ended their choices with, "Is that all right?"
I had to go to my car and retrieve my fleet log (27 rigs) and name off a few that I am licensed to drive.
1. My wife's Kia Sedona.
2. My Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Electra-Glide Ultra Classic -- top of the line (Requires an "unlimited" motorcycle endorsement).
3. Chevy K-1500 3/4 ton pickupw/5th wheel.
4. International S-1600 delivery van. (26,000 GVW)
5. Freightliner Century. (80,000 GVW, HAZMAT, air brakes endorsement)
6. Kenworth 256. (105,500 GVW overweight endorsement, air brakes endorsement, HAZMAT)
7. Beechcraft Bonanza (if I could find a landing strip near the Church)
8. Case 450 track loader.
9. Kubota B-7300.
Well, keep on going. I found out that I was the only one there with a Class-A CDL. Or a pilot license. Or drivers' license endorsements. Or General Contractor license. Or the nerve to operate these machines.
Only two of these women had Drivers Licenses: they felt that it was "demeaning" to do their own driving.
That is one way of excusing intolerable laziness, I suppose.
The ladies held me in contempt because I have a certain letter combination of personality traits. Yet despite their lack of acheivement, they felt utterly superior to me! These people were all stay-at-home highly unattractive middle aged housewives who had never even applied for a job. One considered herself a businesswoman -- she had a spare bedroom converted to dressmaking, which is something to her credit.
Then, when it came time to compare degrees, I was the only one there who had one -- including the "coordinator." These gals were all well able to afford college but were so lazy that they wouldn't even try.
They basically ran me out of the room with cold glares. Envy can do nasty things, especially when you are dealing with conspicuous under-achievers.
