I have had severe depression problems for a few years and have recently lost my job.  I have been on anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medicine in a different state but have recently moved to Oregon.  I'm looking for a job, but as for now I have no insurance and cannot afford to go to the dr.'s without insurance.  Is there anywhere I can go to for help???

glenda, my heart goes out to you. lyynda, it is my belief that the lord works through people but we have to work with it. Do some footwork. If you bump into a brick wall turn around and try again. Try local social security, social workers, look through the yellow pages and just keep going till you find help.

Contact the drug manufacturer. Many have programs that give meds for free to those that can't afford them.

I live in GA and have lived in a couple of other states.  There has always been a state or county founded mental health facility.  The physichiatrist is usually there only a couple of days a week, but they are staffed by physicolgist that I have found very helpful and understanding.  Most are training for the degrees.  Call your local chamber, a physicians office or anyone you think that can lead you to some free or affordable help.  I learned this many years ago.
