The letters stand for various components in the camcorder (dcr.zr is the image file system, ccd is the device that carries analog signals)
Most of them don't mean much to the average user. Putting a lot of symbols and letters on their products are a prestige thing for the manufacturers, like car makers putting designations on their car models. (SL, V-9000)
