Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

It would be quite helpfulif you could narrow this down.

What does your friend want to see happen? Her desires will determine how you best can help her.

You be there for her, Moe.  You answer the phone late at night, you allow her to cry all she want and needs to, you allow her to scream profanities about him when she needs to, you provide her with a place she can escape to when it gets to be too much, you help her with the logistical issues ~ a job, a place to live, food, if she needs help with those things.  Basically, you just be a friend.  You give her time to mourn her loss, and then you give her gentle presure to work towards her future.  You hold her hand.  You remind her what an incredible person she is every day.  You help her to see her role ~ the part she played ~  in the separation and to work on thoe issues.  Just be her friend, Moe.

If the marriage ultimately fails, then Skitch has given you the 100% correct answer. This is another instance where there is no way on GOD's green earth that I can improve on the post. Thanx, Skitch.

You want be helping her by telling her to stay with him. I personally would not want to be with someone who don't love me anymore. It is clear that he don't love her anymore. It's time to move on!
