Call your local social security office and they can tell you what to do.

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed
If you have a Legal Aid society in your area, contact them and they can give you the information you need. Good Luck, hope everything works out for you.

The law works but the system needs changed, We all abide by the law but sometime it failes us. The same with the goverment. God bless the USA, Brign our troops HOME safely, To the men who did not get the credit they deserve, MAY GOD WATCH OVER OUR SERVICE MEN.
That is a good question there is no easy way to go about this as it comes down to how much in need you are but like in Florida they put you on a waiting list as they say and as one is eliminated one goes up the list. Best of luck to you as this is the way our Goverment works.
The search for people who can answer your question continues for as long as needed - until you find the answer you were looking for.
When an answer is posted by someone who was invited (byYedda or by yourself) to answer your question, their answer is marked with a yellow "invited by Yedda".
To be invited to answer other people's questions in your areas of knowledge and interest, be sure to list your favorite topics:

Of course, the more helpful your answers are, the more likely you are to be invited to future questions...

Are you planning a wedding? Go to Social Services and maybe they would know who you could contact. Sherry
Its never too late to ask.
Unfortunately, the Social Security office cannot help you. Their function is only provide information related to your benefits. If you did call them they might not give you the same info I'm about to provide you with next. Somewhere your local community is a Dept of Social Services(try the internet) and also a Senior Center (can find also on internet). Or you look in the yellow pages of your phone book.
where do we go for goverment assistance for rent and food?
