Not all prisons allow marriages. The best way to find out is to ask the chaplain or religious coordinator of the prison.

Personally, I would advise against marrying someone when they are still an inmate. Most marriages fail.

I have worked within prisons for the last 10 years and it is very difficult to really know someone before they are out. I always advise against it.

Cool Equal justice for All

The law works but the system needs changed, We all abide by the law but sometime it failes us. The same with the goverment. God bless the USA, Brign our troops HOME safely, To the men who did not get the credit they deserve, MAY GOD WATCH OVER OUR SERVICE MEN.

If i were you i would not get involved as most prison marrages dont work out as her record will always be there and it may ruin the outher persons reputation it is as Sam stated to you he knows he has been there 1st hand experance as he knows the ropes.

I agree, I would duck out of a seedy prison marriage.  There is not much in it for your friend (but misery, married to a prisioner she can't be with, and might hardly really know???) and there is nothing in it for you to help her do a marriage that makes very little sense and probably won't work out well for your friend.
